Data Files

Aeris Basic stores its data in a series of data files. The files fall into two categories, global data files and practice data files. Data files have the filename extension .tps. Some files with other extensions are present in the data folders but are not considered to be data. That doesn't mean you should delete them or try to edit them in any way. You will not like what happens if you do.

Global Data

Global data files are for data that is used across all practices.

	DynLabel	Mailing label format definitions
	ListCode	Claim codes

	ProcIndex	Part of the lookup index for procedure codes
	ProcWord	Part of the lookup index for procedure codes
	Upg	Information used to upgrade file structures
	User	List of system users

Practice Data

The files in the following list are unique to each practice including the sample practice. The sample practice files are stored in a folder named Sample immediately below the global data. Data for each real practice is stored in a folder the name of which is a randomly generated eight digit number.
